House in Jama
Team: Juan Tohme, kenji Kogushi
Located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Jama, this beach house is conceived as a contemporary pavilion open to the horizon. Its lightweight steel structure defines a linear, transparent volume that subtly floats above the topography. Large glass planes allow for a continuous visual connection with the seascape, while the interior spaces—of a sober, monochromatic aesthetic—enhance contemplation and rest.
The use of dark materials in contrast with natural light creates an atmosphere of sophisticated calm. The integration of the kitchen, dining area, and outdoor living space reinforces a fluid and open spatial logic, characteristic of coastal living. This residence represents a synthesis of architectural precision, sensory enjoyment, and respect for the natural environment.
