Rampa Bar
Team: Juan Tohme
Collaborator: Candela Botta
Client: Familia Rámirez Párima
RAMPA is an architectural project conceived as a sequence of spatial experiences rather than a single defined program. While the word ramp commonly refers to an inclined plane connecting levels, in this project it takes on a deeper meaning: the union of a family — RAMírez + PArima — and the conceptual backbone of a space designed to connect moments, sensations, and users.
The project unfolds as a curated journey through three key experiential moments.
The first is defined by a continuous system of curved walls clad in copper, dissolving the perception of rigid boundaries and inviting the user into a fluid, immersive environment. Here, movement and reflection replace orthogonality, creating an intimate and enveloping atmosphere.
The second moment is marked by a series of circular skylights — luminous “eyes” — that puncture the ceiling and bring natural light deep into the space. These light wells illuminate wine display areas, reinforcing the connection between architecture, product, and perception.
The final and most emblematic element is the ceiling: a sculptural, serpentine metal surface suspended over a dark background. This piece transforms the upper plane into an active architectural element, evoking the idea of a “liquid space” and generating a sense of continuity, depth, and infinity.
RAMPA is not just a bar, not just a tapas restaurant, not just a wine shop, gallery, or exhibition space. It is all of these at once — a hybrid interior where architecture orchestrates experience, atmosphere, and time.
